Welcome
Me-LON is a platform for hosting lecture notes online securely for free. The platform is developed for the students of Kerala Agricultural University. It is developed and maintained by Department of Agricultural Statistics, College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Kerala Agricultural University. Created using open source and free resources, it is a solution for all existing problems of lecture notes sharing and hosting e-contents.
For Students
Me-LON will host e-lecture notes which can be accessed by students of Kerala Agricultural University from anywhere independent of platform. Notes can be accessed using the passcode given by the course teacher. Students can use mobiles, tablets or computer for reading the lecture notes. Notes for UG, PG and PhD will be made available. All notes are in readable format only. Practical notes can be downloaded as PDF. Make use of it to the maximum.
To Teachers
All we have done is the sowing of seeds in a very fertile land. Our teachers will decide the pace of growth of Me-LON. Inputs from our teachers will be the only thing that will help the Me-LON to grow. Lecture notes are made available in readable html format made using Quarto in R, which is in a read only format. Teachers can submit their entire lecture notes as word files in prescribed format to MeLON, we will convert it in to readable html format. see here for the format. Not only lecture notes, any e-content for educational purpose that you want to host can be shared as a word file in the specified format. Don’t worry about the rest, everything will be managed by us and your content will be here in Me-LON free to use, secure and handy. Say goodbye to all those complicated platforms and sharing methods. Only students with the passcode given by you can see the notes. Notes will be available only as interactive readable format and not as pdf, there is no worry of unnecessary sharing. Practical notes can be downloaded as pdf by the students.
