A little help to get started

Your library, in your pocket

  1. Choose a book. Visit the library and tap Start reading.
  2. Find your topic. Use the book’s chapter menu. On a phone, look for the menu button near the top of the page.
  3. Keep your place. Bookmark the chapter in your browser so you can return to it.
  4. Practise as you read. Work through an example before moving to the next topic.

Studying R

Start with the foundations in R Programming for Agricultural Data Analysis. Read the explanation, inspect the example and try changing one thing at a time. Browser laboratories need an internet connection and may take a moment to load. A laptop is useful for longer coding sessions; your phone is useful for reading and revision.

Make reading comfortable

  • Turn your phone sideways when a wide table or code example needs more room.
  • Use your browser’s text-size or zoom settings to make the text comfortable.
  • Save chapter bookmarks rather than relying on an open tab.
  • Online books need a connection. Download a practical only when the book provides a download link.

Course notes and passcodes

The books linked in this library are open to read. If your teacher shares a separate course resource with a passcode, use the link and code supplied by that teacher.

Something not working?

Contact the department with the book name, chapter and a short description of the problem. Include your browser and phone model if possible.
